Location Policy
1. When the App uses your location
- Only when you tap the button. The location button (a target icon) sits next to address boxes such as Job site address. Nothing happens until you tap it.
- Your browser asks first. The first time, your phone or browser asks whether to allow location for prositelink.com. You can say no, and you can change your answer at any time.
- One reading, not tracking. Each tap reads your location once. The App does not watch your location in the background, does not track crew members, and does not record where anyone has been.
2. What happens to your location
- Your device gives the App its current coordinates (latitude and longitude).
- If "Suggest addresses as I type" is on, the App sends those coordinates to the Photon address service, run by komoot GmbH in Germany, to find the nearest street address. Photon works from OpenStreetMap data and sets no cookies. If that setting is off, nothing is sent and the App fills in the coordinates instead.
- The address appears in the box. You can check it, change it or erase it. It is saved only if you save the estimate, invoice, job or customer, the same as an address you typed.
We do not store the coordinates on our servers. To show nearby addresses first when you type later, the App keeps an approximate area, rounded to about 1 kilometer, in your browser's local storage for 30 days (named psl-lastpos). That rounded area may be sent to Photon along with the text you type into an address box. If you never use the button, the App may look up the approximate area of the business address in your settings and use that instead.
3. What we never do with location
- Sell it, or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- Use it to build a profile of you or to infer anything about you.
- Track employees or crew members, or show anyone where another user is.
- Collect it from people who did not tap the button.
4. California privacy rights
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, precise geolocation is "sensitive personal information." We use it only to provide the feature you requested, which the law allows without a separate opt-out. You still have the rights described in our Privacy Policy, including the right to know, delete and correct, and you can turn the feature off at any time as described below.
5. How to turn location off
- iPhone or iPad: Settings, Privacy and Security, Location Services, then your browser (for example Safari Websites), and choose Never or Ask Next Time.
- Android (Chrome): open prositelink.com/app, tap the icon to the left of the address, then Permissions, and turn Location off.
- Computer: click the icon to the left of the address in your browser and change Location to Block.
- In the App: just don't tap the location button. To stop sending anything to Photon, turn off "Suggest addresses as I type" in Admin, Address suggestions.
- Clear the approximate area: clear this site's data in your browser settings.
6. Customers' addresses
Job site addresses you save belong to your company's records (Customer Data) and are handled as described in the Privacy Policy and the Data Processing Addendum.
7. Children
Pro Site Link is a business tool and is not meant for anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect location from children.
8. Changes and contact
If we change how the App uses location, we will update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect. Questions: [contact email], or write to [Legal business name], [Mailing address].
